LineMetrics is an asset monitoring business specialising in applications for obtaining sensor data regarding existing buildings. Based in Austria LineMetrics was established by company owner Reinhard Nowak in 2012. LineMetrics now serves customers in the asset and facility management branch around the world, with their adaptable all-in-one measurement, transmission and analysation solutions.

Q: Which wireless sensors are you using in the GTT outdoor enclosures? What does their data report on?

We’re using GTT outdoor fully-configured enclosures as high quality LoRaWAN gateways for outdoor applications. A LoRaWAN Gateway sends the encrypted sensor data from the application to our LineMetrics Cloud via a built-in SIM-Card (LTE connection). Therefore, it is the central station to connect up to 1,000 sensors. The GTT outdoor enclosure makes the LoRaWAN Gateway robust and enables reliable usage in exposed, outside locations.

Q: Where were these sensors housed previously?

This outdoor sensor range were brand new products for us, so we haven’t used any alternative housing solution. The GTT outdoor enclosures have enabled us to improve the resilience of our products and expand our range of services.

Q: What made you choose GTT Wireless enclosures?

We service customers in several different industries – which include demanding environments like the construction industry. Therefore, providing a product with such a nice looking high-quality enclosure – that performs outdoors in all weathers and conditions – is really essential for us.

We were looking for a product that had excellent quality and reliability, and that looked great too! GTT had a reputation as a market leader in the enclosures industry, so we got in touch. Q: How long did it take the engineers to install? Was this done during LineMetrics working hours?

As we are using the enclosure as a base for one of our core products, arranging the best time for installation was a key consideration. We found installation and setup an efficient process, and we were able to arrange a convenient time with your team to fit around our working hours. Because GTT also provide customised adapters we were able to complete assembly of the device super-efficiently without it impacting our operation.

Q How soon from enquiry were your enclosures fitted and everything good to go?

It was less than a month between our initial enquiry until we tested the first sample. Great turnaround.

Q: Have you experienced decreased downtime and higher productivity as a result of these enclosures?

I think so, yes. But more importantly it’s allowed us to increase our product offering and secure new orders and customers, as our equipment now works well in a range of rough environments. Our customers are happy with the result, so we are too!
